School Site Council
Description:
Our School Site Council is committed to open communication and shared decision-making. As a collaborative team of parents, teachers, staff, students, and administrators, we work together to guide our school's academic goals, budget priorities, and improvement plans, and we believe every member of our school community deserves to see how and why those decisions are made.
Roles and Responsibilities of a School Site Council
The composition of the School Site Council is mandated by law. It achieves a balance in membership among parents, teachers, other school staff, community members, and students, as required for secondary schools. Parents nominate and elect parent and community representatives, while teachers elect their fellow teacher representatives. The principal is always included as a voting member of the School Site Council.
This balanced structure ensures that no single group holds disproportionate influence over decisions, reinforcing our commitment to a transparent, fair, and representative process.
