New Phone Policy

Mount Olive Innovation & Technology High School is implementing a new phone policy to help students stay focused, engaged, and present during the school day. Under California’s Phone-Free Schools Act (AB 3216), schools are required to limit student smartphone use during the school day, effective July 1, 2026.

During the school day, students may not use their phones for texting, calling, social media, gaming, unauthorized recording or photography, or to avoid participating in class. Earbuds and headphones should also not interfere with instruction. The goal of this policy is not to punish students, but to create a learning environment where students can focus on their education, connect with others, and make positive choices.

Families are encouraged to support students in understanding that “Your phone can wait. Your education can’t.” Together, we can help our Tigers stay focused on their goals and make the most of their school day. For questions about the new phone policy, families may contact the school’s front office.
